Dear Friends:
Thanks to the generous support of donors like you and the hard work of our volunteers, CVTA has been very active in 2023 growing and enhancing trails for the outdoor enjoyment of hikers, bikers, and equestrians. With completion of the James Lee Loops and additional trail on the Fay-Luther/Jobs Peak Ranch Trail System, we are excited to report a total of 66 trail miles throughout the beautiful Carson Valley. A few highlights include:
- James Lee Loops – We are very pleased to have completed 3.7 miles of trail that link the Jacks Valley Trailhead with the Indian Hills neighborhood at the James Lee Park Trailhead, bringing the total Clear Creek Trail System to 30 miles.
- Fay Luther/JPR Trail System – More than 1.5 miles of new trail and extensions were completed to establish additional stacked loops with less long-term maintenance.
- Genoa Trail System – More than 125,000 embedded rocks were removed from the trail system to create safer and more enjoyable mountain biking, and better footing for hikers & equestrians.
- Juniper Trail System – Proposed in 2008 and approved in 2013, this project awaits a second round of approval for potential construction in 2024. This is a 10 mile series of loops that will start at the Juniper Trailhead off of Stephanie Way.
