From our friends at LTNSP - Sand Harbor, Spooner Lake, Cave Rock, Van Sickle.

I wanted to let you know that trail crews will begin work on repairing the rock slide on the Flume Trail on August 27, and will conclude on October 4th. A trail closure Monday through Thursday will be necessary. This closure is due to the nature of the work (rock walls and tread construction), steep cross slope and narrow corridor, and crew safety issues. At the end of the work week, the NCC will make every effort to clean up the work site and make it passable for each weekend, Friday through Sunday. State Parks will follow-up soon with a map outlining the closure (Marlette Dam to Tunnel Creek Road) and alternative route (Tahoe Rim Trail/Hobart Road). The map and signage route will be located at:

· Bottom of tunnel creek road (at the gate)
· North end of the Marlette Flume
· South end of the Marlette Flume (Marlette Dam)
· Top of North Canyon Road at Marlette
